DID YOU KNOW that over 85% of Christians came to know Christ before the age of 15?
According to these statistics, where should today's church put emphasis on evangelism: on the adult population . . .
or on the children?
Sadly, the children in our community are often neglected, with many people assuming that they have at least heard the
Gospel before.
However, over 80% of children in our state do not attend church on a regular basis. And many who do still might not have
heard the Gospel explained in a way they can understand.
TIME IS FRAGILE and these children need to hear the Good News!
YOUR CHURCH actually has the opportunity to adopt a local elementary school! CEF will train your 8-12 volunteers to teach
a once-a-week Bible Club during after-school hours, sharing the Gospel with the children in the local community!
Spread the vision to your church and help us reach EVERY CHILD in EVERY SCHOOL in Columbia, SC!
How can CEF share the Gospel in the Public Schools? "The Supreme Court ruled in 2001 in Good News Clubs v.
Milford Central School that Good News Clubs can meet in public schools after school hours on the same terms as other community
groups.
Although CEF has many strong outreach ministries to children, After-School Good News Clubs are especially
important. We work in cooperation with public schools to supplement the children's education with biblical principles. Sound
Bible teaching not only helps children grow spiritually, it also has a positive impact on their personal and home life, school
performance and decision-making skills.
Churches nationwide are adopting public schools for Good News Club ministry. To learn about adopting a school
in your area click on the box above. Your church can reach out to your community through after-school Good News Clubs! Each
week the teachers present an exciting Bible lesson using colorful materials from CEF Press. This action-packed time with the
children also includes songs, Scripture memory, a missions story and review games or other activities focused on the lesson's
theme.
As with all CEF ministries, the purpose of after-school Good News Clubs is to evangelize boys and girls with
the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and establish (disciple) them in the Word of God and in a local church for Christian living.
To accomplish this goal, each club includes a clear presentation of the Gospel and an opportunity for children to trust Jesus
as Savior. Each club also includes strong discipleship training to build character and strengthen moral and spiritual growth.
All clubbers are encouraged to attend a local church."
