My first involvement with CEF was during the summers of 1999 and
2000 with the Christian Youth In Action program. During those summers, I was
trained and equipped to go out into Columbia, SC and share the gospel to many children at daycares, camps, and homes. It was a life-changing experience, however I didn’t realize it as I left for
Clemson University in 2001.
While at Clemson, I quickly realized that life required funds
to pay expenses and to eat. I took a couple years away from working with children,
but returned to work with children at the Foothills YMCA adjacent to Clemson University.
It was then that I realized God’s calling in my life to work with children.
Since then it has been an adventure for sure. I graduated from Clemson with a B.S. in Management and moved to Colorado to work at a camp there. I worked there for a couple of years before moving back to Columbia, SC to work the
with the CEF Columbia-Midlands chapter. From there I went to the Children’s
Ministry Institute and completed a 12 week intensive course held by CEF at their headquarters in Warrenton, Missouri.
Upon the completion of my schooling there, I moved back to Charleston,
South Carolina to become the local director for the CEF—Palmetto Chapter. I
am excited to see how God will work and what God will do in the Berkley, Charleston and Dorchester counties. Praise the Lord for this new adventure—please pray for wisdom and guidance as I undertake it.
